Ormylia Foundation
It was founded by the Elder Emilianos in 1982 in the Ormylia area of Halkidiki, and is an expression of the will of the Holy Monastery of Simon Petra of Mount Athos and the Holy Congregation "Evangelism of the Virgin", to offer to man and to civilization.
The Foundation has two main activities; preventive medicine is applied, medical research is promoted with the help of the State and the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Medical care is offered to the sick and development of social actions of welfare, moral, spiritual and material support to the population of the wider area, especially the young and those in need. Also, technological research is developed for the study - documentation of cultural heritage elements with the help of the State and the Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs).
In addition to its two main activities, the Foundation expands its research activity in areas of social issues such as tackling the social exclusion of groups (elderly, children), developing actions with the support of modern technological means to ensure their social presence or their reintegration.
